Here’s how the ANC technology works: when turned on, external microphones listen to the sounds around you. What the heck is an NFT? And What Kind Does PulseTV Sell?

What is an NFT?

You may or may not yet know what NFTs are yet. NFT is a fancy way of colloquially saying one-of-a-kind digital art. The interesting thing about these digital art collections is that ownership can be proven when you use Ethereum (ETH) crypto currency because the transaction is recorded on the Ethereum public blockchain.

Let me break this down for newbies. The blockchain is a public database that can be accessed to verify transactions anywhere in the world. When you buy a piece of digital art and that purchase is automatically recorded in the database, your ownership can be proven.

NFTs are Modern Day Trading Cards

Imagine you collected and traded physical baseball cards. You may be storing them in a shoe box and the most valuable, (maybe Willie Mays’ rookie card) stored in a safe. It can be lost, stolen, degraded over time. A digital card can be shared, used as a screen saver and sold person to person or on one of dozens of NFT auction sites.

NFTs can be unique pieces of art or 1 of 50 (or some designated amount).

At this unprecedented time, experts offer up the most important advice: stay at home. Please! The less the general public congregates – the better. To flatten the curve of the Coronavirus (Covid-19), we need to come together and stay home as much as possible.

Hey you’re stuck at home – might as well make it look good! I’m sure there’s plenty of projects you’ve put off for years, or were just waiting for spring months to arrive. Deep cleaning your house can be very therapeutic as well as make a healthier environment for everyone.

How to Make Homemade Sanitizer Wipes

How to Make Sanitizer Wipes — Visit our website for the how-to video!

A handy trick we’ve just learned is to take some hand sanitizer and create your very own DIY sanitizer wipes in just a few short steps! With Coronavirus (Covid-19) and quarantine/stay-at-home measures in place, it’s essential to sanitize your workspaces and homes.

We have been getting MANY calls from customers asking if our Purifize Hand Cleaner can disinfect surfaces. The short answer is absolutely YES. Because Purifize is 70% alcohol, it exceeds CDC minimum standards. You can certainly pour a bunch in your hands and then wipe it on whatever you want to sanitize – but that’s kinda weird isn’t it?

Here’s how to make your own wipes (Watch the How-To Video on Our Site):

Cut paper towel roll to size for storing in a resealable container. Maybe you have an old container for sanitizer wipes that ran out – or you could use a big Ziplock bag.
Put inside the container and pour enough Purifize to saturate the paper towels inside. Purifize isn’t as thick as some other goopy hand sanitizers like Purell, so it works a little easier to pour in.
Keep sealed up until ready to use.

Use these wipes for those infrequent trips to the store (wipe down cart handles) gas pump handles, and doorknobs. Keep some in the glovebox or on your desk to remind you to keep clean!

Used in combination with frequent hand-washing with good quality soap, proper filtration masks, and social distancing – you’ll stay as safe as you can be.

Now we want to point out that due to its high alcohol content, it can be used safely on glass and plastic surfaces. We do not recommend it be used on wood as the alcohol disinfectant might strip the wood surface and polish (you can always test a small portion first and see how it goes from there).

PulseTV is no stranger to electronics: it’s been our number one standalone department for years now with almost 100 products at any one time. We’ve got speakers, power outlets and other accessories – but headphones and earbuds are probably our favorite.

From old-school wired headphones, to Bluetooth® Wireless devices, and the latest trend of “true wireless earbuds” we’ve been here for the complete evolution of personal audio. The only thing missing was active noise cancelling technology!

How does Noise Cancelling Technology Work?

It’s hard to explain, but what happens is that your headphones will dynamically produce a sound wave that is the mirror image of undesired noise, thereby “cancelling” it out. I don’t know if it truly cancels it, but for it’s best for reducing continuous, low-frequency noise: think of the low droning sound in an airplane cabin.

The technology has been used in aviation since the late 80’s, but the company Bose® is well-known for bringing the first set of consumer-based headphones in 2000, called Quiet Comfort, which they still iterate to this day.

But here’s the problem: they’ve always been so expensive! I won a pair of Bose QC25 in a contest, but they cost $300 at the time! I would never have paid that much on my own…

Selecting the Perfect Model

So that brings us to our partners, makers of popular Volkano branded headsets. We looked at literally dozens of models and configurations that were too expensive or didn’t sound quite right. Some were too heavy, and others felt way too flimsy.

We put the factory-made samples through various office tests until we were happy to select one for our customers! We chose to include a 3.5mm cord, and a very nice hardshell carry case – since we all know how essential those are for traveling on planes! We even collaborated on the packaging:

PulseTV Buyers Team at the International Home + Housewares Show 2017

There were a TON of awesome products we saw at the International Home and Housewares show. It’s one of our favorite shows to go to – and it doesn’t hurt that it’s practically hosted in our backyard – McCormick Place in Chicago! So we wouldn’t miss one of these for the world.

Besides watching some cooking demos from our favorite chefs, sampling delicious snacks and smoothies, we actually got some real work done too! We met with some awesome new vendors, some Shark Tank successful companies, and current vendors/friends.

Some of the team was also in Las Vegas for a trade show at the SAME time. It stinks, but we split our buyers up to cover more ground and make sure we don’t miss great deals. More on the other show in another post
